CanPay is required to validate the identity and banking for each new consumer enrollment. While we do NOT collect the full Social Security Number, we do collect the last 4 numbers to complete that identity validation process. We wanted to make this process as convenient and minimally intrusive for consumers as possible, while still allowing us to ensure only those consumers who can be fully validated are able to complete the enrollment process.
